OV transforms the germination process into a sensory ritual, bringing the experience of growing sprouts directly to your table.

It is a unique and ever-changing piece, a distinctive addition to gastronomy that reinterprets traditional sprouters.

Carefully designed and crafted from noble materials, it is aesthetically pleasing, full of presence, and capable of adding a distinctive touch that enhances any space. An object that is both enjoyable and decorative, usable with or without sprouts.

A product that engages all the senses

Sprouts grow and stay fresh thanks to the felt, which acts as a natural substrate. Different types of seeds can be planted, and even when there are no sprouts, OV remains a decorative object full of character.

How to grow sprouts with OV?

Welcome to the world of germination! Using a sprouter is an easy and rewarding way to grow fresh, nutritious sprouts right at home. Before you start, here are some tips to ensure optimal results:

  • Choose quality seeds: Always use seeds specifically meant for sprouting. They should be untreated and free of chemicals to ensure the sprouts are safe and healthy.
  • Light and temperature: Keep the sprouter in a bright, indirect light area, and maintain a temperature between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Be consistent: Water the sprouts regularly to keep them hydrated and fresh.
  • Harvest on time: Sprouts are at their best when crisp and green. Do not let them grow too long, as they may lose flavor or texture.
  • Avoid overcrowding: Do not overfill the sprouter with seeds. Sprouts need enough space to grow and breathe.

Note: During germination, it is normal to find seed husks or small roots. Sometimes they may look like mold, but this is part of the natural growth of the sprouts and can be easily rinsed off.

How does it work?

  1. Place the felt on the tray and moisten it thoroughly until it looks shiny. Don’t worry if a little water collects; it’s better to keep the felt well hydrated.
  2. Select your preferred seeds and spread them evenly over the felt. Cover with the perforated lid and place OV in an area with indirect light.
  3. Check the moisture level daily, ensuring the felt stays adequately wet, and adjust watering as needed. Sprouts usually start to appear within a few days.

When they are ready:

After 5–8 days, the sprouts are ready to eat. Cut them and use them in your dishes.
Sprouts can be cut and stored in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.

Your sprouts should have:

  • Leaves: vibrant green, tender, and well developed.
  • Stem: firm, green, and healthy, with a height of 2–6cm.
  • Roots: well-formed, whitish, and strong enough to keep the sprout stable and anchored.

Maintenance: At the end of the process, discard the felt. We recommend hand-washing the product without abrasive cleaners, using a mild detergent. Do not use alcohol or other solvents.
